No surprise that RB-3 neck "parts" banjo sold quickly. It was the most tempted I have been in years. But also seeing a Nechville at a silly low price and that Deering Baucom are incredible deals as well. Would be a great time to be a buyer. Is this a harbinger of times to come?

That was a killer recording.  Jim always gets the best out the banjos, but that banjo stands out even compared to his other samples.  In fact, I'm not sure I remember a better sounding sample overall.  You got a great one there.  Enjoy.

Well lets just say that I'm glad that I decided not to buy this new fancy banjo that I had my eye on. Today, the company that I work for reduced our salary by 20% for the duration of the pandemic.

Until this virus runs it's course, good deals are just going to get gooder.  Sad but true.

I wonder how many folks have an original Rounder 44 w/ the "Crowe finger" ? Probably not many even know what is is ----  I'll probably keep mine forever  :-)

I too like Jim Britton's banjo videos --- it's great hearing the spectrum of tone although he sets some up a bit tight for my ear .

(1) 5k for a banjo is a lot of money if you are out of work and the bills continue
(2) this is also a chance to put money into the market at a low point, so that would be a better option than buying a banjo
(3) people might want to help out family instead of buying things for themselves
(4) we have hit negative interest rates, people are fearing a recession or worse, housing prices will likely fall

With all of the uncertainty, making multi thousand dollar purchases is likely a rare thing for people to consider

Speaking of the banjos jim britton showcases.....

Everybody knows that gold only sparkles for the miner that digs it out....I'm not saying Jim is misrepresenting his banjos....I'm saying he can get good tone out of a tennis racket!
