Hello people,

What's this backup lick J. D. Crowe plays at 1:47 in Old Home Place?

I imagine one of you folks must know it, because I'm having trouble hearing exactly how he plays it. Thank you thank you.

Hi Peter. This is what I hear. That first hammer on the 2nd string with the open 1st string is 1 1/2 beats which I think is the hook in this lick. Not sure if he ends on that 3rd string slide (hard to hear it) but it fits.

The 2nd-and-3rd-fret pinch happens one eighth-note earlier than that tab shows, and is probably followed by an open 5th string. Let your ears guide you.
