There have been threads about the pandemic, some of which have inter alia included news of event cancellations. I think it makes sense to have a thread that is strictly a list of banjo/bluegrass/OT/etc. events that have been canceled or postponed because of Covid-19, along with replacement dates if known and whether refunds/rainchecks have been issued. Discussions of the virtues of moxafloxacin versus gallbladder of 3-toed sloth would be excluded, ideally by the moderators, although I understand that that is extra work for them. Just my opinion but I think that this would be a worthwhile information source for the community.

Hudson Valley Bluegrass Assoc in Poughkeepsie NY sent email notice today they're cancelling their next scheduled concert. Band was Magnolia Street.

Mile Twelve FB post said they're cancelling 3 NY appearances for this weekend.

Danny Paisley and Southern Grass FB post earlier this week announced cancellation of their show at Symphony Space in NYC this weekend.

Just decided as of yesterday - by the "powers that be" and the Chamber of Commerce, The Highland County Maple festival, (In Highland County and Monterey VA, which normally takes place the middle two weekends, and by that I mean on Saturday and Sunday - of March) has been "post-poned" indefinitely, until further notice. Although NOT a music festival per se, there are several musical things, and bands that appear, both bluegrass and old time, that go on during the festival. Folks come from far and wide to attend, and no doubt many of them will probably show up anyway. BUT - I did my part by letting all know! So there!!

The Floyd Old-Time Get-Together scheduled for next weekend has been postponed, date TBA. The organizers will issue refunds if requested.

The Emelin Theatre in Mamaroneck, NY has canceled the March 20th appearance by David Davis and the Warrior River Boys. No decision yet as to Laurie Lewis's show scheduled for April 17, but I think that will be canceled too unless there's a dramatic change for the better.

Should be fairly straightforward for folks to monitor events themselves, by checking the event or venue websites.

Not a bad idea, but the posts above suggest that posters miss the point—to keep things brief. I’d want to see just a list, so if posters think it makes sense, tomorrow I’ll post a locked list of postponed events. If you know of one, please PM me. I’ll keep it at the top of this forum. That way, if you see an event that interests you on the list, you can then check the appropriate website, and we won’t have an extended topic to wade through.
