I think Elderly uses it, and I know Reverb does too. It's a way to buy things on time, the seller gets the payment up front and Affirm gets paid back in installments, with interest or a fee I presume, to make it worth their while. I signed up for Reverb last fall so that I could accept Affirm and a few other odd payment methods that I am not set up to process on my own. If you make the sale through a larger site like that they should help you if there's a problem, I would think. I am a little leery of signing up for too many different payment methods myself, especially if I am not going to need to use them to get paid very often, but I thought it wouldn't be a bad thing to advertise on Reverb anyway, and it gave me access to multiple ways to be paid too.

I'm going to ask some really basic questions about buying and selling on the marketplace here. I have never sold anything online, and I have never purchased anything online except from a retail merchant. But now I want to use the marketplace here to sell and possibly buy banjo parts.

How do most individual sellers handle the exchange? What services provide some buyer and seller protections? Does Paypal?

And what about using a credit card with Venmo (owned by paypal) which should provide some protection for buyer? Somebody needs to pay the 3% but that is a reasonable charge. Robert
