Last Sunday I went there to hear my "Lady from another band" Mama Beth play her weekly Irish gig.
Got comfortable with some brats and potatoes with a very good gravy.
And I had (no kidding) the best piece of cheesecake I've ever tasted.
We told the waitress this and she said "That gets said here every day."
The music was a new experience for me.
I was wondering a bit why the volume was so high on the P.A.,but my question was soon answered. The 30 or so people that were there were very familiar with the songs and there was much singing along at the right times, handclapping, footstomping, forming of circles with well placed,fist-raising and singing.
What a hoot! ...The windows were rattling! The room was shaking!
There was a mighty physicality to it all.
