I thought I’d share what I did for a banjo strap.
I got a nice, but inexpensive strap. I think it’s probably a guitar strap.
I don’t plan to play with a strap a lot and it doesn’t fit in the case, so I wanted it to be easy to install and remove without tools while being plenty secure while in use.
I got D’Addario elliptical end pins and bolted them to the strap using tee-nuts to hold them to the strap. I used some loctite to make sure the bolts don’t loosen. The end pins act like buttons to hold the end of the strap after it’s looped through a hook. The elliptical pins make it so that the strap has to be turned 90 degrees to get it on, but once it is re-aligned with the strap, it seems very secure.
