After getting the forward roll down and backward roll down as well.I put the banjo to the side for a few years and just have got it back out and started playing and I for some reason cannot get my forward roll to work I'm want to move my intire arm and the backward roll works better than ever lol.Has anybody else encountered this problem?

that's your banjo punishing you for putting her aside lol. bit seriously just take your time play as slow ad you have to to get the forward roll right. learn some ralph stanley tunes. that will solidify your forward roll

I agree with Gary: slow down. It takes time for the brain and the fingers to get together after you've been away from the banjo for a while.

Get out the metronome. Slow setting and then speed it up gradually as you remain smooth.
