Can anyone help me identify an Alvarez raised head the original owner claims it was purchased in the 70s but there is no label in the rim except a sticker on the resonator which ill upload the photo. It looks like a 4310 but i dont know a year estimate.
The rim is a 13 ply and the resonator looks just like an iida build. The tone ring lifts off but is snug and hefty. I thot all Alvarez came w a label inside however i imagine maybe a certain window of years maybe they didnt put labels in.
It doesnt look like a long skirt tone ring but it definitely has that archtop fabulous punch. It has great tone.

I believe this was made by Kasuga, Japan c. 1970-80's. Possibly one of the best of Alvarez.
I just followed the link identifying the Emperor date code system and the numbers indicate September of 1974 what a piece of bluegrass history i didnt start picking till 1979 but the bluegrass festivals were burnin up in the early seventies. This is a great catch. Im a happy camper.!..!..!

I have a white eagle also and your correct, they have great tone. Beautiful instruments. Very nice wood work. I love the hand carved heel. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. What is the emperor date code system? I’ve never heard of that before. Where can I find more information about it.
I frankensteined a WE pot to a newish carved asian neck. It sounds good. I think if I have a pro do a set up including head tension, it could sound much better.
Someday, I hope to find an original neck for it. Brad
Thank you, I’ll check it out.
