Hey,
Just a quick question any owners out there of the 2004 ESS?

I played a 2005 for years & consider it the ultimate banjo. What have you heard about the 2004 ?

Heard that they have the “mystery ring” which a lot of people seem to like and the necks slightly heavier/larger up the neck...

The build quality & voice of this period ESS is top drawer. The only issue is what one is willing to pay. This is an instrument that is generally overpriced , mythologized & exploited.
