Take a gander at this - ebay.com/itm/Nitty-Gritty-Dirt...waexcsh9L hopefully the link pastes alright. Sheesh'.... I guess some folks will do nearly anything for money. Having said that - better get it while you can. No doubt it is probably the only one on the planet. I'd get it myself but am running a bit short on funds at the moment...... but at the LOW LOW price of only $ 3465.00, it will make someone a bargain and a great instrument. For starting a fire that is......

I think the real question is whether or not the autographs are worth $3300.

We'll find out because I just asked them that...

Update, they seem to think it is, even without the banjo player's signature on the banjo.

Someone should offer them about 300 bucks and tell them - the offer is GOOD for today only. Of course i wouldn't be a bit surprised if someone does buy the thing. Nothing surprises me anymore!! On second thought, I would be surprised if someone buys it at the price they are asking!!

Deals like this don't come along every day. I would think about buying it but that $225 shipping charge is a deal breaker.

You buy it, I'll drive down and pick it up for you and ship it at a reasonable cost.

I'll go one better - if anyone buys it, i'll go get it and deliver it to you in person, and that will take care of the shipping issue.

That looks a lot like my Oscar Schmidt (albeit with a little fancier inlays). Mine isn't autographed but I'd let it go for half of his asking price. LOL

i couldn't stand it. I actually sent the guy an email and told him point blank that his banjo "MIGHT" be worth 300 bucks on a GOOD day, and that was only to someone who was mainly interested in the autographs.... explained what he had, and that you could buy new ones all over the internet all day long for a bit over 100 bucks... to 179 bucks or so tops.... and that I had no ulterior motive; as I wasn't interested and wouldn't bid on it even if the price was 50 bucks.... I certainly hope he replies to me. if he still maintains that his banjo is worth this much, i think I will offer to sell him a like/comparable banjo for only 1000 bucks.... and I will certainly carry thru on the deal if he accepts. Not only that, but I strongly suspect I can obtain some "as valuable" autographs as his banjo has, thereby ensuring that it is of at least equal value as his!!

After I messaged them they sent me an offer for just under $2k. Yeah no.

They don't know what they have so they see it as hyper valuable.

It would be a real bargain if the decimal was moved two places to the left.

You would still be offering far too much. $50 for the banjo, $50 for the signatures.

I just got an eBay message from the seller offering to sell it to me for $1200. I was urged to hurry because other buyers were interested and it would not last long at that price.
Hold me back. I don't know if I can resist a temptation like that.

Hey Greg,
You might even be able to find some banjer pickers to sign it.

Who wouldn't part with their cash for those genuine mother-of-toilet-seat inlays?
