Many, if not most, of the tablatures in the Hangout archive are in TablEdit ".TEF" format.  To view and play TEF files on your computer, you need the free TEFview software, available here.

While you don't need to be a PC expert to download and use TEFview, you do need to know some basic things:

- what operating system you're running (so you choose the right version of the software to download)

- how to install software into a specific location on your computer and find it once installed

- how to download tablature files into a specific location on your computer and find them so you can view them

Some tablatures are posted as PDF documents, so for those you need Adobe Reader or any other software that can open PDF files.

Some tablatures are written in programs other than TablEdit and are saved in file formats that the free TEFview program may not open.  The $60 full featured TablEdit software can open several other tablature file formats.  There may be free viewers for those other formats. You'll have to search to find out. You don't need to be a PC expert to do that. Just resourceful.

Good luck.

Also:

Look at the left column on EVERY page of the Hangout.  See the word "Learn"?  Hover your cursor over that word and a window pops up that includes the words/link "Banjo Tab Library."  Click that.   The page it takes you to is self-explanatory.
