When I was part of NATO ('73-'75) we were issued a little business card with 6-10 pics of different colored license plates that we were supposed to watch out for and report where we saw them.
We were told these vehicles were allowed to be among us,but that we should report them when spotted.
It was explained to us that they were "spies" with some kind of permission to be in West Germany observing us.
Anyway,I long ago tossed or lost that little business card with the plates on it.
Did anyone else ever see those "Liaison plates" cards?
Yea Steve, had that training when I was stationed in Germany. If memory serves me correctly, the plates were some kind of diplomatic plates on Soviet Union vehicles.
I wish I'd saved that.Just to pin up on the beam over the pool table for conversation.
