Description text from auction:
Was recently asked the label inside.
I don’t have a photo of it Because the inner ring had to be replaced shortly after I got it (with another Gibson master tone ring) my fault and the serial number and label are gone. The shop never gave it back to me. I never thought I would have to sell it so didn’t care at the time as long as it played and sounded the same. Hence, asking what I am. This is a great banjo especially for the price, I paid $4600 for it new. Hate to part with it but have medical issues that stop me from playing it.
Seller has 100% positive rating. I'm in no position to judge the honesty of this listing. Merely sharing it to aid discussion.

You need to ask more questions! Why was the ring swapped out? Labels in these ESS banjos are on the rim lower than the ring so swapping out the ring wouldn't need the removal of the label. The price is about right ( I have owned one) and got it from the USA less than that.
