Just got this email today, it says that my son missed his flu jab (shot?) last week so he can have it this week. Yeah he missed it, he was off sick with the flu along with half of the kids at his school.

Maybe they should roll the program out a little earlier next year smiley

They’re available here in mid October. Not sure how the schools are handling it here though.

Hopefully a little more efficiently than here Chuck!

The flu vaccine usually covers several different viruses that can each give you the flu. It may be worth it to get the flu shot even if you have already had the flu this season.

Take oil of oregano , garlic, apple cider vinegar, cloves, bentonite clay, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and grapefruit seed. That’ll keep away the viral demons.

Resveratrol is a natural plant phenolic compound. Has excellent anti viral activity.
During the winter, eat lots of red grapes, drink red wine and chew Caesar salad for the garlic.
Blueberries, raspberries and peanuts are good sources too.
Costs more than weiners and beans but I always intend to really enjoy good food and drink.

Lots of claimed benefits for resveratrol; anti-cancer, cardioprotective, antimicrobial. Just about any health benefit you want. But none of the hype sites I looked at claimed anti-viral activity. I think I'll stick to my flu jab. But I'll carry on drinking red wine just in case.

Hi Chuck V. Did you get those ingredients from your "Medicine Hat?". Reminds me of the old commercial of a product that had "Special herbs and spices".

...can the placebo effect work if one doesn't actually take/inject anything, but just convinces [i.e. believes so in his mind] himself that he did?

Owen ,, yes,, akin to Christian Science beliefs. The mind is a powerful thing , it often controls the physical. As you all know from playing music.

Okay...maybe I'm going from the ridiculous to the sublime, but will my fitness [cardio, etc., etc.]  show improvement if I can convince myself that I'd done the work, even though in actuality I hadn't?

...and FWIW, what I know from "playing" music, would make a thinner book than the book of Italian War Heroes.
