Here is my Oscar Schmidt OS-45B Autoharp I just bought on Ebay.
One thing nice about Autoharps is that you can modify the chordbar configuration and add chords that were not there before that you actually need !
One popular mod is called "Folk Friendly"
and I found dozens of other mod versions on the internet, but this one is a MYSTERY !!!
I don't know who came up with it, but it looks like it is perfect for bluegrass, especially songs in the key of D which would have been impossible before.
Factory Chordbar Setting : D Gm A7 Dm E7 Am D7
Eb F7 Bb C7 F G7 C G
My modified version : Em Am G7 D7 A7 E7 B7
F#min Bb F C G D A E
Pix attached. (modified plus a picture of an unmodified OS 45-B
I can see theres been a lot of switching around here, I wonder if the tuning is still the same?
Still a mystery who came up with this configuration, and the person I bought it from has no idea.
I may just convert the whole thing to 21 button, but this mod is interesting, and dunno who came up with it.
Cool! Can we see the whole thing?
