Any idea what this could be?
on the back is the following from left to right: 1326
About 7 in. length
3 1/2 width
looks like a pick guard to me
That's what I was thinking. It looks more like a pick guard. It seems like it would be pretty tricky to mount.
Looks like a pick guard to me.
SORT OF like this:
Those flat picks could really dig the HLL out of a head.
Yes. Clearly a pick guard but from what banjo?
I have to disagree with it being a pickguard. Both sides are curved, and although I don't use one, I would think one side would be straight to line up with the strings. The curved edge would leave a void and seems like it would be an area where one would "catch" their pick.
Cool find, interested to watch this thread.
Are you sure it is for a banjo? Could also be an armrest for a mandolin.
Could be. I have no idea.
That is a banjo pick guard.
That one, or one very similar cropped up here on a thread a few years ago. Have no idea as to where that thread is now.
It went on a smaller head banjo/banjo mandolin.
If I recall correctly. The thread had a photo of it mounted. Looked pretty cool , and also useless.
Thanks. Cool and useless. Reminds me of some people I knew in high school. Or maybe that was me.
Its without question a pickguard, but from what is an open question
