I know a few around here are kinda mad at me. We all got our flaws. Larry,Ricky and that other 1 or 2. Lifes too short. You can get on me ,but lets act like we are in the same room in a small town. You know "Tom ,you're about half way wrong there " or'' chill out hard head'' don't do some kind of vague hint,it is foggy enough on the net already. I am probably mad at Mike Gregory ,but just don't have a current reason.Just kiddin Mike, trying to get a good j peg out of you.

In other words, act like grown ups, not spoiled brats? Let's all try to be nice and if we can't be nice, let's be civil.

I bought a very nice little hatchet for $8 at our local Harbor Freight a couple of weeks ago.

I can't for the life of me fathom why, but they have this poster at our local senior center:

           "It's nice to be important,

                             but

it's more important to be nice."

I like the analogy of a drive-in. Here on the hangout , I can park my rusty old pickup next to the mercedes benz with the nice "foglights."

Once , in Kansas City, I was playing my banjo in Loose Park before the class reunion. I had a whole pickup full of Osage Orange, 3" Cherry, stuff that was cut with the Amish's 48" buzz saw in Kentucky.
When a bunch of school kids parked next to me and unloaded into the Ramada. In 10 seconds, they were using my banjo case and the cooler for drums and we were off to see the Wizard with This land is your land, I've been working on the railroad, Then we showed them the planks in my truck and quartersawn and so forth.  I was appointed to this by the universe, I complied. 50 kids are a great audience.

Sometimes in this modern world, a forum like this gives the opportunity to "mask." Athletes, mountain bikers, basically warrior society people who have STRONG views about thangs. They hide in the open, they "mask."

People hide behind their favorite stuff, like real clawhammer, real bluegrass, whatever re-connects people to their roots and branches.

I'm the branch manager. Watch the full moon and bio rhythms and that might explain "fluctuations" in peoples' writing.

We have too much fun to have. I like when someone is irritated by people at the shows walking up and handling their banjo parts, handling things like tuners and especially nuts. If people are handling your nuts at the banjo show, what's the problem, you brought them didn't you? Then let people examine them. They might take them home.

I am definitely not burying the hatchet. It's hard enough to find when it's above ground and I need it. Geez, the saws are bigger and I can't find them half the time, either.

Maple leaves are everywhere up here, Tim.  Except in Toronto where they have Leafs.

As they say, "The leaves fall in autumn; the Leafs fall in the spring."
