If I were going to make a Gibson copy, but with Cherry instead of Maple/Walnut/Mahogany, which model do you think would look best? Anything prewar or bowtie era would be great! Thanks!

I think some variant of RB-3 would look fantastic with cherry.

The Cherry Stelling Virginian/Carolinians from the 1980's looked great without a ton of flourish.

So either the Leaves and Bows, Diamonds and Squares, or Wreath RB-3?

Personally i'd do a leaves and bows on an ebony board with creme colored binding.

Hard to go wrong with any of the 3 series inlays, though I think a FE or Hearts and Flowers would straddle the fine line between "just enough" and "too much".

RB-6 checkerboard would be stunning with Cherry.
