A little BSA cadet Martini...
Cartridge I designed for meself..
A Remington 357 maximum case necked to 6mm...
Used 6x45 reamer fer the neck n shoulder part..
N.. a 22 Remington jet reamer fer the rimmed part..
Measures to a ..Nat's Azz.. to marry up the case waist.. fer a perfect fit..
So...
Half one cartridge.. n half of another..
Next little project to improve me machining abilities...
Very pleased how that went.... :0)
Plus threadin the barrel as well as making the breech fit the extractor..
Had to refit the extractor to fit the new case as well..
Waiting on a  stronger firing pin spring as so I can relieabily use harder military primers..
Fer a little more speed...

So far it shoots very accurately... :0)

Your activities have come to the attention of PETPT !
(People for the Ethical Treatment of Paper Targets)

I would lead the picketers myself, except that I'm too lazy to WALK up that long, long driveway. cheeky

That's very neat Fig. That is the kind of stuff my brother does, but suffice to say that I'm too lazy and not smart enough.

I was just thinking of you Dale, got a trip,up north arranged  for 5 days mid November.  Our farmer friend has a real deer problem at the moment so we’ve been granted a special licence to cull at night.  We will hunt traditionally during the day and then try and do some thinning out under darkness.  The latter isn’t sport or fun, but management that has to be done.

My hunting partner has just arrived in Wyoming for a few days sport.

Cool. I know nothing about guns (a shameful fact since I'm from Texas) but I do think they're cool!

Ok...
With BLC2 powder..n ah 55 gr bullet...
Chronograph at just ovah 2900 fps..

70gr pill..at2600 fps

85 gr pill....at 2400 fps

I think if I go to 2230 powder I will be over 3000 fps by a fair amount..mebee 3100 or 3200 fps..the latter bein ..hopefull....

The extraction design of this little rifle...is the limiting factor...kinda weak..

If this were ah bolt gun...I think 3500fps would not be outa reach..fer the 55 grainer..

But again that is rathah...hopefull...

When the rain stops I hope to print ah few 100 yard groups... :0)

Pleasant little rifle to shoot... :0)

2230 powder produced 3009 fps
N...
2200 powder

produced 3273 fps...

If I want more speed than that..I will half'ta Bush the fireing pin hole..
Fer a tighter fit..

Probly will not go through all that tho..
But ya nevah know.... ;0)

Smithing is an art. The other day, I met a relative of John Browning in my local café. I'd say John was an artist, wouldn't you? Lots of Mormons where I live.
