Nothing fancy - just posting another song by a beginner. Maybe inspiring another beginner to share their latest. :)

I echo what the rest have said. I'm glad you have the confidence to post as well -- which is what you should do and partly why this forum exists. You've adopted the often hard discipline of playing slow, but clean and keeping your timing consistent. I had a hard time learning that. On day two, I wanted to sound like Earl. What a train wreck. Keep up the good work.

like it and glad you posted, will try to find that song, I'm still trying to get my fingers to find the cords, not going too will and starting to know why I put this thing in the closet for so long but will keep on trying and trying but I like this speed. Keep up the good work, makes me think I might get that far some day

What  is  the nut width of your banjo? Usually when your problem persists, a banjo with a wider nut width solves the problem. I've had personal experience with it, and a banjo teacher also told me the same thing. Many banjos, even modern ones from top builders and companies have a nut width that is too narrow, and a bridge that is also too narrow spaced for the strings. It is mainly a throwback to the old Gibsons and other vintage makes. When they first started making 5 strings, they did'nt take into consideration the different playing style from the 4 string. They just kept the same neck, and just added a little extra width for the 5th string.

Thanks, will look into it but I really think I'm just old and too much arthur in my hands. Still will keep trying though, wish I had had some band in my youth as I am not really understanding the music but getting better, put my banjo away about 5 years ago when I took in my Mom as she had dementia and a bad back and hip, She passed in Dec of this last year and feel its time to get the banjo back out.
Again thanks and will look at it and see what it is
