This early ball-bearing Mastertone was rescued from a dump in Stockholm, Sweden. . . thanks for looking.

There has to be a story there...a dump in Stockholm to Georgia?

Would love to know the life of this instrument.

I was contacted through my website by a woman from Stockholm. . . it was her husband who had rescued the banjo from the dump and had planned to restore it, but unfortunately he passed away before being able to do so. Its earlier history is a mystery. It was definitely played extensively by someone. . . there's heavy fret wear even on some of the upper frets. There are no export markings on the banjo, but Joe Spann tells me Gibson didn't start that practice until 1930, so it's not even possible to tell if the banjo was originally shipped to Sweden.
