stumbled across this channel with just a few videos, but damn if they aren't fantastic....Charlie is one of the modern living legends of the 5-string...If this doesn't inspire you, nothing will. Enjoy.

The outstanding thing to notice in the video closeups of Charlie's right hand (especially John Henry) is how lightly he is resting his pinky and ring on the head. He rests his pinky and ring at an angle to the head (ala Earl) yielding a relatively flat hand, and his hand slips and slides around the X position in a small area. His right hand is the picture of minimal tension.

Charlie plays for Earls of Leicestser. Lots of good stuff on You Tube.

I'm a huge fan of 'The Cush'-  he is the only guy I've ever mistaken thinking I was hearing Earl Scruggs...and it was Charlie.   He plays Reno style and then has his very own style.  And makes it all look effortless.

Incredible talent !!!!

Great sound. Sounds pretty “flat-heady” for an archy.

Charlie is the MAN! He’s played professionally since he was 14 years old. He’s the only person that I’ve ever mistaken for Earl Scruggs. I heard a song on the radio 5-6 years back and thought I’ve never heard Earl do that song recording, wonder where it came from . It turned out it was Mr. Cushman.

He plays a great Reno style and he has his own style too. Makes it all look very effortless. And on top of it he just extremely humble. Great guy! He’s the set up guy for my banjos and has literally transformed the sound on a couple. To the point I had to make sure they were my banjos when I heard him play them.
