During the BHO summit at Figmo's bus with Al, Mike Gregory and myself we wandered off to a local yard sale where Mike tried on this helmet liner.

Between the tall tales, musical stories, and surrounded by a plethora of Frankenbanjos, it was a great afternoon. To the best of my knowledge there were no rifts in the space-time continuum. We came up with a lot of ways to save the world, but I don't think any will be implemented, so you are all still safe, or not, depending on personal point of view.

I'm happy to hear that none of your discussions were closed due to religion or politics.

Looks fun! I would have enjoyed being there too! Did you all sit and pick any?

We all played some, but we didn't jam. Mike did some of his original songs. It amazes me how he can make them up on the spot. Steve Allen once did a challenge where he was in a store window and played song after song for 24 hours straight, making them all up on the spot. I think Mike could have easily given him a run for his money.

That's Al's frankenfiddle, my recollection is it is a banjo neck on a violin body. Real interesting and fun to play.

Remember Sid in Toy Story who took toys apart and re-assembled them into monstrous creatures? That's what an afternoon in the bus with Mike and Al was like, except Sid was mean and created monsters, Mike and Al are two of the nicest people I've met and they create really cool musical instruments. Going to the local rummage sale with them was a real treat because nothing that they picked up was what it was supposed to be. They found alternative uses for everything, and could see it right away. Wish I had half their creative mind set.

Thank you , Mr. Fig & Mr Five, for a very pleasant time.

And Ms. Liz, for letting Al assist with the chicken.

Finest chicken I've had in a while. A long while.

Would I buy insurance from Mike??  Why do you ask?  Has he accepted one of the periodic offers to send him untold millions, and is putting out feelers as to whether or not he should bankroll an insurance company?

[Edit: Apologies for answering a question with a question... or three.]

I absolutely would not buy insurance from that man, but I would buy a square eel if I weren't so cheap!

Missed my fight from Detroit to Milwaukee by bout 3 minutes. [EXPLETIVE DELETED]

Am waiting to see if I get standby at 11:15

Otherwise, MAYBE after 3PM. Otherwise, maybe I should buy a used car, drive to Milwaukee and resell it.

PLUS, my phone got dropped, and won't light up. Cannot call or BE called. Sure feel isolated.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

 [EXPLETIVE DELETED]  again.

11 AM flight full up!

Lucky, I've got a mystery book, "MURDER BALLAD" by Elizabeth Wadsworth, to read while I wait.

Good read so far.  Up to Chap 19, page 190 ALREADY.

There's a whole lot of worse airports to be stuck in, but I hope you get out of there and back home soon. I know, pull out that little electric travel banjo, crank up the volume and they'll put you on a private jet ASAP.

Since I had built the banjo SPECIFICALLY to fit in my suitcase, and turned in my suitcase and headed the WORNG WAY, I could NOT do so.

Also, because I "knew" that I'd be home in time to take my supper time pills, THEY were in the big suitcase, too.

Mistook my SEAT number for TERMINAL GATE.

So, while I was striding purposefully toward B 13, the early morning flight was LOADING at the FAR END of the other terminal--- A 78.
Realized my mistake JUST in TIME to miss it by 3 minutes!

Finally got routed through ATLANTA, after spending the day - the WHOLE day- 5:AM to 6 PM, in the Detroit airport, wandering from whichever gate the NEXT Milwaukee flight was, ANY time between then and NOON MONDAY, which was NOT overbooked. and finally asking them

My cell phone was damaged at Chuck's, so I couldn't call anybody, and I got one or two messages off at Detroit, and then my COMPUTER refused to link to their free wi-Fi.

All's well that ends well.

By golly, I do feel a need for a good night's slumber.
SOOO glad I did the dishes before I left.

Hate coming home to a sink that looks like some kind of Science Fair project about mold.

And then it occurred to me:
With over FOUR DOZEN different nations on the HangOut, many people might not get the reference to the TV ad where "The General" is the spokesperson for GENERAL automobile Insurance.

So, here you go:

But, let's admit it:

I am generally better looking!

If it’s generally not accepted that you be a General, Mike, you could always be admired as a Milwaukee Admiral.

According to the lyrics of a rather nice old banjo song, my RANK could be STRANGER.

But, I have never achieved any rank stranger than THIS one:
