Banjo I bought about a month ago, Whyte Laydie tone ring. Before and after pics. It was in poor shape, Corrosion, missing parts, etc. The rim was painted black over gray primer, with what was probably spray can enamel. Stripped the paint, sanded, stained dark brown and used Stew Mac guitar lacquer. It looks like an intentional relic job. I just couldn't sand out all the imperfections. Little dings, dark areas, etc. The only brand new parts on this are the hook nut, a few hooks and head. The neck was not that great so I got rid of it.

I don't think I can use the neck I wanted to. The heel depth is way too shallow for this rim.

I am not sure what is wrong with your current neck but I have had good luck with the Saga necks for about $75.

I typically personalize the headstock and inlays.

Thank you. Where do you get the $75 Saga necks if I may ask? It would be worth a look.

Amazon, ebay, I got one once from a Company called Turtle Hill but I now get them from Amazon as they ship from Canada makes it easier for me.

There some pics here of one I altered.
