Howdy great people. I’m looking for a couple recommendations for my Deering Eagle II.

1. I’m looking for a wooden armrest to replace the current tarnished chrome one.

2. Also looking for strap suggestions. I currently keep the banjo in a hard case when it’s not being played. I have a cradle strap on my openback. I love it but I can easily stuff the strap in the pot when storing the banjo in its case. I can’t do that with the Eagle II. I’ve read that one can just tuck the strap behind the neck when storing. But you all always have the best advice so I’m throwing it out there for feedback/recommendations.

Thanks in advance!!

I have a Neotech banjo strap that I really like. It's really well padded and very easy to remove, so you can store your resonator banjo in the case.

For a wooden armrest nothing beats a Dr. Arm designed one. I have 2. Go to banjolit.com All wooden armrests are shaped and designed different. Dr. Arm ones are designed by an Orthopedic Specialist, and have just the right amount of tilt, bevel, and width to improve your playing.

Get a Lakota 2 inch cradle strap. The leather is so amazingly soft, you can just wrap it around the pot.

Thanks for the head’s up. Their arm rests look great. As do the cool travel practice pickers.

I've got five or six 11" wooden armrests on hand that I made but didn't get around to listing yet. I know I have walnut and cherry and probably maple, I'll get a picture tonight and list them in the classifieds. They are $30 or $35 depending on the wood type.

Plus 1 on the Dr Arm. Unfortunately they were difficult to deal with directly ... i ended up getting mine from Bernunzio's.

It just took me about 2 weeks to get them. They came from teh Czech Republic. They kept me up to date with emails. I had no problem ordering or receiving them.

Be careful - the Eagle II flange/hook construction is like the Goodtime 2 so there is not much room between the hooks and the pot for a cradle strap.  Deering sell a soft leather cradle strap specifically for the Goodtime 2 and Eagle II (among others).  I use one of these on my Goodtime II and a Lakota strap on my Sierra - the Lakota would definitely not fit under the hooks on my Goodtime.

Both of these straps are soft enough to wrap around the pot above the flange and still fit in my hard cases.

Another recommendation for the Dr Arm wooden armrests from me - have them on both my banjos.
