recently made an impulse purchase of a souped up "Bashful Bro. Oswald Model 1" banjo. It says it was manufactured by Tut Taylor Music Inc in Nashville, TN. Was wondering if anyone on here knew anything about it.
First- please post photos. That will help many here with ID and advice.
Tut Taylor made custom instruments and also imported instruments from Asia before he teamed up With George Gruhn and others to form GTR instruments based out of Nashville.
I have seen one other Bashful Brother Oswald 1 banjo. A fairly simple affair, but of decent quality. Most likely from the 1960’s or 1970s. Yours should be an open back model similar to many contemporary Kay banjos of the time, maybe of higher quality.
A good quality beginners instrument. In decent condition maybe worth 250 to 450$.
As I said, photos will help many here with further info.
