Here's a sneek peek at the new LS-75 from Eric Sullivan at Sullivan Banjo's. Here's a few pictures and a video of the first one made! These are terrific.

Sounds nice. Not so brash. What's in it?

That banjo sounds great, Jim. Is that a FFloor block rim or a roasted maple block rim?

I have a FFloor block rim V35 Granada from Eric, and it is a cut above other modern flatheads that I’ve played.

Even on my computer, that sounds better than most new banjos I've heard before; nice! I want to know, too, Jim: what's under the hood?

Happy trails,
Randy in Germantown, TN

Randy,

Thanks for the kind words about our new style 75 banjo. This particular banjo is the first/ prototype model and has a roasted straight grain maple neck with a rosewood fretboard and ebony overlay. We are using a Sullivan 5/8 roasted bridge with D’addario j60+ strings. The pot assembly is brass hoop, pot metal flange, Sullivan Professional flathead ring fit to a three ply Viking rim. The resonator is a mahogany style 3 that is just a bit deeper than standard.

The only change we will be making is we are changing over to a pot metal tension hoop. This banjo is available for $2975.00 which includes a black hard shell case.

Thanks, Eric
