Some Curly Maple 3ply rims I made for Eric Sullivan

Some pretty wood there! What adhesive are you using to glue the laminations?
Glenn lives right down the street from the shop and we use the same glue. We currently use a woodworking industry specific glue from Spectrum Adhesives. It is a high solids content glue that dries rigid unlike titebond. We use this glue for three ply rims, block rims, neck construction and resonator back veneer construction.
We have used this glue for the last 5 years and it has been great for us.
Thanks, Eric. That grayish brown color was different to anything I have used for woodworking.
I use a different brand of dedicated laminating glue for rims, but it has a similar dark color, gap filling properties and non creep characteristics of the Spectrum product. Highland Woodworking sells two brands.
Anyway, there is an additive available for it that I have started to use, that lightens the color of the glue line to the color of maple, for whatever that's worth.
