It was suggested to me by a friend that this man posing with a banjo may be Sandy Bull. Somehow Mr. Bull 's playing never registered on my K# brain, but I have caught up rapidly-incredible stuff!
Anyway, do any of you banjo enthusiasts agree with my friend? Regardless of the replies, I got to meet Mr. Bull music. Paul
Well, I don’t know either, but it sure could be. The thing about Sandy Bull is that he sometimes wore glasses and sometimes had a mustache, so he didn’t have a ‘signature look.’ This guy might have a mustache and otherwise resembles the youthful, mid-sixties Sandy Bull. Puts me in the mood to dig out a couple of his old LPs and listen to his music again, though.
I only remember the name from the back of my Ian&Sylvia, Greenbriar Boys, and Doc Watson LP’s. Vanguard Records often listed the artists in their stable. He sounded like an interesting musician, combining different seemingly incongruous genres.
