Tony Trischka played the Opry tonite, first time

Saw it mentioned on Facebook so I listened on Sirius/XM and heard Tony Trischka make his first appearance on the Grand Ol' Opry tonite, to strong audience response. The Whites were hosting and Miss White (Sharon?) gave him a nice introduction and send-off. Band included Brittany Haas, Dominick Leslie, Todd Phillips and Michael Daves.

As Miss White said after their second number "it only took you 70 years!"

Good for Tony - long overdue.
I read an interview with him where he talked about auditioning for Bill Monroe. He said he played something straight up , focusing on the melody. When finished Bill commented that he didn’t get the melody quite right. lol
