I've sent a couple of messages to Eric over the last few days and I haven't gotten a reply. I thought maybe I was sending e-mails to the wrong address. Can someone straighten me out?

Eric is here... around. His day job is website development for corporations and nonprofits. BHO, FHO and others are his side gigs. He regularly looks for posts in the Website Problems section. It's probably a quicker way to reach him than email. He's a busy fellow.

UTM Is it something one of us moderators could help you with?  There's usually a few of us around here all the time, so if it's something we can do, let us know.

Hello again;
You originally responded to my question about how to contact Eric the Web Master. You offered some insight into how to cope with a buyer/seller issue. As part of that reply you suggested that
I contact Eric with the details. I tried to contact him several times thru his E-mail address without
any success. I sent all of the documentation regarding my concerns to him by express mail to the PO box shown on the site "Contact" page. The overnight document package was not picked up at the Post Office in California, so It has been returned to me.

Since my first contact with you it has been suggested to me by more experienced members that it is an unspoken policy of BHO or Eric or both that he/ they do not get involved in buyer/seller disputes;ever. If this has been your experience please feel free to ignore this letter and I will throw away what I consider my indisputable evidence of an obvious "bait and switch"scam.
If you feel that there could be some future value in simply looking at the evidence, I would be happy to forward to you or someone else the unopened package that was returned to me.

In closing; I do not consider this a misunderstanding or an issue of semantics between a buyer and a seller. I am not looking for a solution to my situation. I have accepted the way that this transaction turned out. It just seems incomprehensible that BHO created and maintains a marketplace without feeling the responsibility for at least a rudimentary oversight policy.

Thank you for time;

I'm not sure what you want or need from Eric or us mods. If you've accepted the transaction as it came down, then what do you expect us to do about it?

If you'd like to contact one of us mods and tell us exactly what's happened, who you dealt with and what the problem was, we can at least look and see what kind of reputation the seller had, whether he was/is a scammer and shouldn't be on the Hangout.

Having said that, the Hangout provides a place for people to buy and sell items but it also has a CAVEAT EMPTOR ...... buyer beware and what you've been told is right: the Hangout is in no way responsible for what happens in transactions. It's up to the person buying to be sure he's not being taken for a ride.

Here's a copy of the classified rules for your perusal:  Please note that the font and bolding of the last sentence is my way of showing you what is in the rules.

The Banjo Hangout provides the Classifieds system and the Swap Shop forum as tools for people interested in buying, selling, or trading banjos, banjo-related accessories, parts, services, and other musical instruments.

These tools work together, but are used in different ways.

The Classifieds system is used for the listing and browsing of classified listings. It is a specialized, powerful tool which makes it easy to create and browse a variety of listings in a variety of ways.
The Swap Shop forum is for discussing listings found in the Classifieds system. The forum format allows for easy, public discussion of classified listings, so everyone can be informed about listings.
The classifieds system is funded by sellers. Payment of the lesser of 2% or $75 is required on items sold using the classifieds system. (Donation information available here.)

The Banjo Hangout cannot assume any responsibility for the transactions that occur here.

I'm not personally familiar with the geography of NC or FL, but it seems odd to have three advertised instruments in Asheville, NC, Melbourne, NC and Melbourne, FA.

Could be just an innocent typo, or the seller may have multiple residents, but still.
