Thank you, Daniel. It's a great song and I'm heartened that it's still heard. I learned it from John Cusack in 1988, and he got it from The Pogues.

I cried the first time I heard this tune, at the line "and the young people ask, what are they marching for." or something like that. Good job on the tune and banjo. Brad

I wish you would have been asked to back Liam Clancy's recording which was voice and guitar only. Btw, Australian songwriter Eric Bogle composed the song.
