I'm sorry to say that I'm cancelling my Gibson RB4 classified ad. There seem to be persistent doubts about the instrument's origins and authenticity. Perhaps I got suckered by some BS'ing seller several years back when I bought it (I hope not) but I can't in good faith offer it as a "real" Gibson unless I'm convinced of that. So I intend to send it to a BHO member/luthier to disassemble it, clean it, replace the tail piece with an original Presto, look at the "mystery" serial number and give me his best guess about exactly what it is. I hope it really is a genuine Gibson, and perhaps I will then keep it. So, I'm sorry if you're disappointed, but I think having real knowledge and honesty is the best way to tackle this. Thanks, Dave

You're a good man, Dave. Hope you are pleasantly surprised in your findings and are able to enjoy the real McCoy.
Hope you find where Earl Scruggs etched his name in it, lost photos of him playing it surface, and you are sending off six figure offers. Nice to see integrity on this site. That's why I advise people to buy here.
Thanks for your integrity David, nice to know BHO standards are being upheld.
