I love so much about this. The banjo sounds great and so is your playing. The arrangement is simple, clear, and very memorable. And finally, the way the camera's frame rate matches up with your bass string makes it look like a floppy piece of spaghetti when you lay into it.

I haven't played Tom Dooley since I first started playing Scruggs style about 15 years ago. I'll have to work this out tonight from your video. I think it could work very well as a medley with Worried Man Blues.

Hi Johnny, and thanks for the comments. I was playing around with worried man the other day funnily enough.

Post some audio or video if you get it sorted.

Thanks again!

Bore da! Where are you in that picture? I thought I had the only tourist banjo in Wales this week. (I was just in Snowdonia with my wife, and we have been driving all over mid-and-Southwest Wales with an old fretless for company.)

P'nawn da i chi! Dw'i'n byw yn Eryri. I live here in Snowdonia, and there aren't many banjos for sure. My house is in Dolwyddelan near Blaenau Ffestiniog, you probably drove past on the main A470 in the far distance.

You won't have seen much blue sky like in my video I imagine? That was back in April!

Still, you get more than a fair share of that in LA I bet. Not exactly banjo heartlands either?

Anyway, thanks for the comments, next time pop in for a 'panad.

Yes, we spent quite a bit of time on the A470 - we drove to Porthmadog and did the narrow-gauge rail trip up to Blaenau Ffestiniog, to see the slate mine there and do the tourist thing. (I heard a tiny bit of banjo music 500 feet underground during the “Deep Mine Experience.” I’m now at a music conference at Cardiff University...no banjo here, though, more’s the pity.
