This song by "America" has been an ear worm for me for the past couple of weeks. I found the video of this gentleman doing a great job of the song with his banjo and thought it would be fun to learn but I haven't got the gift of learning by ear - yet. Any help finding a tab similar to this would be wonderful! Thanks for the help.
He's not doing anything too difficult. Just holding the chords with the right picking pattern. You can go to ultimateguitar.com for the chords. For the up the neck part you can slow down the video with the wheel feature at the bottom. But he is just playing the same chords in a higher position.

Hi Hooter, Starts with an Am. The intro progress goes something like this: Am, F, C, C. Then the little up the neck thing: Em, Am, G, F, then the vocals start in C ("tried") then Em, F, C, Em, F, Dm, Am, Em, F, Dm, F, C. Have fun and keep on pickin'!
From the youtube comment. It's a great progression to work on, definitely could work in a BG setting.
