A student of mine is looking for some modern(ish) pop arrangements of tunes, specifically Motown. I'm understand I might just have to create some new arrangements for her... but I thought I'd ask you all if you knew of a good songbook or collection I could pass on to her.
No - But if you find any let us know. The "walk in" music at my wedding was "Reach Out (I'll be there)" . It'd be great to serenade my wife with this on our anniversary.
Not arrangements or claw, but the two CDs by the Burns Brothers, aka. Run C&W are great examples of bluegrass covers of Motown. One CD was called "Into the Twangy First Century; I forget the other's name.
Thanks Lew, I enjoyed listening to them.

JoeDownes Thanks for listening to the youtube. I didn't know anything was posted there.
I forgot to say to BeeLee02 that these could be useful if the student can learn by ear and emulate some of these songs. The rhythm is often close to a clawhammer bum-ditty, so the transition should not be too hard.
