I know sound is very subjective, but how might one of these banjos sound played clawhammer ? or what other banjo might they sound similar to?

I personally think they are great for clawhammer or other traditional styles. All these banjos were originally built for Classic style banjo, Not clawhammer, but back before thumpy, muted banjos became in style in the late 1990’s , these were very well respected instruments for clawhammer.

Finger style, they are beautiful.

They sound what I would say, trebly, and very cutting. Play very well in a larger string band setting. Great for melodic styles. Nice necks.

Pretty obviously, they sound similar to B&D Super Banjos, Montana’s and the like.

Really very nice instruments, built for professional players and pretty rare. Very high quality. If you can get your hands on one, grab it. The heck with what other players think is the “right” sound for a banjo. Play a banjo you like and play it the way you want it to sound.
