I hit the on button on Monday and got no familiar blue light or anything from the big box.
Took it to Rockbound Computer at its brand new location in Rockland,Maine.
They were still unpacking boxes and stocking shelves when I dropped it off.

They called and left a message at 8 o'clock that same night saying to call them which I did the next morning.
I was told it needed a new hard drive of which they had a used but tested one.
I went in this morning and picked it up with W11 updates, utilities, antivirus and anti-spyware for a total of $170.
I complimented them on their promptness and thoroughness.

Sounds like a fair deal and quick turn around to me. Glad you are up and running so soon again. Brad

A hard drive came with my computer. But after buying an external drive, I was so impressed with its performance I moved all my non-executable files to the external drive. Much faster and never needs any type of file maintenance. Unplug it from the USB port and not accessible to anyone. I am even having thoughts about getting a second external drive. I could use one of the external drives for backup.

If you use an external drive for backups, make sure to keep it disconnected when not being used.

A ransomware attack will encrypt everything attached to your computer, and your network.

So you would have no backup to recover from if that drive were encrypted as well.

With my lack of computer dexterity I am very thankful for places like Rockbound Computer and their attention to the customers' needs.
My printer wasn't working right for over a year.Now it's fine,too.I feel I got a lot for my $170.
Brand new computer,again.
