After many years of buying and selling on the Hangout I have never had any issues with anyone, nor has anyone had any with me.. I sent a check via the USPO to the stated address. I ask the seller ( via email) to contact me when chevk arrived, they said ok. The day the PO said the check arrived, I emailed asking did check arrive? No response. Each day I emailed, got no response. I send one last email, after three days, stating if I did not get a response by noon, I was stopping payment of the check. I never heard, so I go to my bank, check had not cleared so I stopped payment. There could be a legit reason they did not respond, and I hope that’s the case. I just felt, in case check was lost etc, it was best to get it stopped. Long live the Hangout.

If I may retweet a quote attributed to one of the galaxy's most well-traveled HangOut members:
"Feces occur, even with no evil intent on the part of those involved."
Stuff does happen but I'd be a bit dubious.
I hope you entered a negative feedback with explanation. lest any of us run into this seller in future.
I did not, because I was looking for item, he responded. Item was not in classified section.

Hopefully, he will contact you if and when he tries to cash the check and maybe he will have a feasible explanation for not replying to you sooner.
Any red flag like that you have to err on the side of caution. Especially now days.
Was the seller a brand new member or has he been on the Hangout a while with regular postings with some input on the website. I stay away from new members with no history on the Hangout when I'm buying & selling in the classifieds, I don't care how good the deal is. It's just to risky & I don't need the aggravation. Good Luck, I hope the deal goes through for you & has a good ending.
