This question has probably been answered but I can’t seem to find...I just ordered a set of gold plated Rickard tuners and will be using to replace standard Gotoh two band gold plated tuners. I have a nice set of amber tuner buttons on the Gotohs and am wondering if these will also fit the tuner shafts of the Rickard tuners? Thanks.

They should fit with no problem. I have swapped buttons on the three sets I have just fine.

I found the amber buttons from my Gotoh tuners just a bit loose on my Rickards, I have a roll of aluminum tape that is sticky on one side and you have to peel off the backing. Just cut off a piece to wrap around the shaft, It's silver and looks just like the metal shaft. Press your button on gently and if it's too snug use less tape, if still loose put more tape but you really don't need much. This is not regular duct tape, it has no fibers in it. Looking at the brand name inside the roll it says Intertape polymer group made in Sarasota Fl. If you find that it's too snug and sliding down the shaft when you push the button down, just use less tape. Hope this helps!
Keith.

I believe that tape is for the joints in flexible H VAC duct work. Most hardware stores will have it.

Got the Rickard tuners in, got them installed and found the amber buttons were indeed just a bit loose. As per suggestions from Keith and Len, I purchased a roll of aluminum tape and placed one wrapping around shaft...each button is now snug and the tape can be easily removed if I decide to go back and re-install the original ivoroids I ordered with these tuners.

One caution, these tuners contain a ‘cap’ located between tuner body and button on the shaft which contains a small plastic spacer and metal washer. When removing the button, be very careful not to let that slide off the shaft along with the button....the small spacer and washer may be easily lost if not careful...Just a word of caution.

Thanks Eric, Keith and Len!
