This might be of interest to a few people. I play it once through as a chord melody followed by a swing version. Same tune, different notes. smiley

Oh ya...great tone out of that little booger! I'd like to think that's an old Harmony....but it looks too nice. What make?

Dow, it's a Martin. The Martin ukes have a similar reputation to their guitars.

Larry,
are you using finger picks when you play those things? I know when i undertook learning Jerry Reed style guitar...i found it easier to always use finger picks as to not throw my natural hand timing and feel off when switching back and forth from guitar to banjo....just curious.....obtw....your hand still looks like a banjo pickers hand...and a damn good one at that!

No, I use nails a la Chet Atkins because it's nylon strings. You can't play as fast but I like the tone. And yeah - you can take the banjo away from me, but my right hand's not having it! I use a lot of banjo technique on the uke - and thanks!

Larry,
I get that alot too when someone observes me playing guitar....they will comment that i am playing it like a banjo...when it is in guitar tuning...but i think that also gives me a bit different style....which is really what i am going for anyway!

I play nylon string guitar fingerstyle,, thumb & 3 fingers, but no picks and no planting. It takes me a minute to adjust, and vice versa going back to banjo.    Chet Atkins was asked once if he had trouble going from his electric to his classical , with such different spacing , body depth, & string feel - he said not much,,he’d been doing it so long it wasn’t an issue.

That sounds great - what a nice original tune. I love the jazzy version. You are definitely the Charlie Christian of the uke!
