You all know I'm in love with Timmy. Timmy is my soulmate, or would be if a truck and fat, sassy old lady could be soulmates. Recently, he's been rattling like a bucket of bolts. Our son lifted the hood to see what was up. What was up was, the hinge to the hood was broken, and long short, Timmy is hood-less until our son can wield the broken piece back in place.

I had to drive Timmy today. I had to. I love Timmy with all my heart, but it is down right embarrassing to drive a truck without a hood. I felt like I was walking around in a midriff with no pants on. Trust me, that is not a flattering look on me.

Am I shallow for wanting him to have a hood? If he were a man, I wouldn't care if he was bald. But some how, it feels different with a truck.

Not that I'm available, but would you date a woman who drove a truck with no hood? I didn't think so. How many of you all have ever driven around in a truck without a hood?

WOO-HOO, I'm glad you like bald men, let me be first in line. You do want the hood on Timmey as that aids in cooling the engine and the other items on the engine. You probably will not see it on the tempreture gauge.

Well, how does that contrast to driving around in a convertible?

Doesn't effect the hair, but the engine is still covered.

There may be snow on the roof but there's still a fire in the furnace.

A truck without a hood, if it takes you where you NEED to go, is like "MOUNTAIN HEART's banjo player, Barry Abernathy, without parts of several fingers.

Sure, his hand looks different.

But he got those notes where they needed to go.

Give Timmy a pat on the radiator cap, tell him you still love him, and let him do what he was BORN to do: Carry you like ROYALTY wheresoever thou mayest deign  to wander.

If you were to relieve a matching hood from a rich neighbor you would be "robbing hood".

There's a burn waiting to happen to the tires or legs.

396,427 or 454?

It's Deuce Days here this weekend. There's hot rods all over! https://vancouverisland.ctvnews.ca/vintage-vehicles-swarm-downtown-victoria-for-deuce-days-1.4514446

Just tell people your engine is so hopped up it needs to breathe Mander.

I was hoping for a more interesting thread with a title like "vehicular nudity", like examples of driving around naked on a dare or something. I *may* know of some who have done such a thing. Maybe.

454 ;  Yes there is enforced etiquette w/ these types of rods when entering & exiting ----  much easier to forget when exiting . Also have to keep kids away -- all of the time ! :o) . Loved this truck but it was too cramped even when it was stock & wife also liked it except for the suspension , or lack of .

always check online with 'DriveBC', the gov't road conditions website.

There have been some big mudslides north of Cache Creek to close #97.
Those guys got a great deal of rain this year.

What I get for complaining....

I think the men folk are conspiring against me. When they learned I won't drive Timmy until the hood is fixed, (I'm afraid folks will steal parts with them exposed like that,) they up and decided to fix all the rest of him and save the hood for last! While they are waiting for some part to show up, why not remove the driver's door, and the driver's seat while they're at it. Oh, and they got to patch that hole over yonder and another one over there....

If I thought it was bad before....

Best I could do with the photos I have available to me. And of course, the famous Peter Sellers scene.

Think Bonnet. In England, you would be Bonnet-less. I was just thinking out loud, the farther back into rural America you go in my neck of the woods, being hoodless can be more common than being hooded. The only other thing that comes to mind is the lack of decorum - you know, when all the parts and pieces are a collection from different vehicles and none the same color. Or that guy who saved some money with spray paint cans, or a nice nappy roller from the paint store.

And then there was this little item of the day...

https://www.yahoo.com/news/naked-cyclists-shot-paintball-gun-111005385.html

So just thinko f going hoodless as your contribution to "Body Positivity".

Portland has a naked bike ride every year. Never been. But bashful, can't undress in front of his wife, hubby has. Go figure. I will never understand that man.

Not with vinyl upholstery, I hope. Not that there's anything wrong with that if it's what melts your butter.
