I havent been on here much in probably 10 years but thought I'd share the news. I started in 2003 and had Arthur Hatfield make me a lefty walnut Hatfield Special (#4) in 2004. Great banjo, still play it exclusively, love it, will never get rid of it.

After 15 years I finally decided to add to my collection and just had Murphy Henry put in a build order for me for a lefty Stelling taking advantage of her student discount. I wanted a curly maple with a headstock binding and a lighter color than my Hatfield. I decided on the Golden Cross. Fancy but not too fancy. I think it's a beautiful banjo and will hopefully complete my collection of two. Sunflower is about the same without the binding. Virginian is awesome but WAY more expensive. Everyone has a Red Fox. Staghorn is walnut. What do y'all think?

A great choice, I played one for 35 years. I laughed at a second banjo "completing " your collection. Banjo collections are like collecting rabbits; they tend to grow in number.

I know, but i have done pretty well holding out 15 years. Maybe a mahogany Gibson one day to round things out...

You can never go wrong with ANY Stelling! The Golden Cross is a phenomenal banjo in sound as all Stellings are. Just wait till you actually see this thing in your hands. Unless I miss my guess, you're gonna flip at how beautiful it is. Happy pickin'.

The Stelling Golden Cross is an awesome banjo. I have a friend that has one and I love to hear him pick it and am in heaven when he lets me pick it. Hope you enjoy it  as much as he does.

My second banjo was a new 1980 'lefty' Stelling Staghorn. I thought it was a beautiful, and great sounding banjo. But in 1992 this banjo was stolen out of my house when I was broken into. Somewhere out there is a left-handed Stelling Staghorn. Enjoy yours!
