That is awesome! Thanks for making the video available. Did you play just the one tune? Was this prearranged or spur of the moment?

Nicely done.
Makes me want to hop in the sixteen cylinder Packard and head for the speakeasy for bit of bathtub gin!

Packard didn't make a sixteen cylinder, although they did make a twelve. Sixteens were a Cadillac product. A few others, such as Marmon, also made a few sixteens, and one French company, Voisin, actually made a straight sixteen, the engine of which extended into the passenger compartment.

Spur of the moment.  My hotel was fortunately a quick walk to Brennen's where he was playing (every Friday unless he's on the road).   I played Louisiana Fairytale with him first.  I messed up a bit, I was super nervous.  I went to put my banjo away and he said, "You don't wanna play with me no more?"  I wasn't going to assume I should!  Then after Blues My Naughty Sweetie Gives to Me, we ended with Oh When THe Saints and he ran off to catch a plane.

What a wonderful encouraging experience. I thought Don might be a generous soul. Were you carrying around your banjo?

Boogie Bogen Congratulations! Jamming with a musical hero is just about the best performing experience there is.

It was great.  I didn't bring my banjo there, I wouldn't have assumed I could sit in.  He mentioned it and then after hanging out for a while I thought, "I'll really regret it if I don't."  So I ran back to the hotel to grab the banjo before his last set ended.

Thanks Ken!  I'm hoping to get back in the groove and do these more frequently.

(When I do I also post a link from my facebook: Richard "Banjo Boogie" Bogen   as well as my personal one: Windy Boijen)
