We'll be heading north towards upstate New York from Florida. Want to make a stop in Mt Airy NC, Gettysburg, Any recommendations for camping or festivals in those areas?

The Gettysburg/Battlefield KOA is excellent.

The biggest bluegrass festival in the northeast is in roughly two weeks, July 18-21. Grey Fox in Oak Hill NY, near the Hudson River as you approach Albany (headed north on the NY Thruway). HUGE, and quite "modern" although I believe the RV camping is "rough", no services last I knew, but certainly the one to hit if you like the modern type of bluegrass.

There are plenty of other smaller festival all over Pennsylvania, NY and New England in July/August. Check Bluegrass Unlimited or Google.

As for just RV campsites?   Too many to list!  One particularly nice one is Taghanik (Taconic) State Park Campground on the east side of the Hudson River in upstate NY.  My folks used to stop and camp there on there way to festivals further away.

Dont know when or what you are looking for but Galax VA is near Mt Airy. There is a KOA in Fancy Gap VA. Also the Blue Ridge Music Centre is in the same area.

Camp at the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival. They have excellent festivals in May and August of each year.
