Can anyone tell me the width at the 12th fret of a standard sized Prucha banjo neck please?

I dont know the answer for that very special question, but it is quite easy to contact Jada Prucha at his company. And I made the experience that he is always very friendly and helpful

Mr. Prucha makes two neck widths.  He reported via the BHO several years ago, and I printed a copy and kept it.  He gave a range for each.  I have the "standard" width, and have tried the "wider."

"Standard":  1st fret, 12th fret 22nd fret:  1.22-1.24,  1.68-1.69,  1.92-1,93 in inches.

"Wider":  1.28-1.30,  1.72-1.73,  1.93 - 1.95.

He may be doing things with a CNC machine now, so the dimensions could be a little different, but likely close to the above.

Hope this helps.

Our fingers are very sensitive to both texture and dimension.  It's easy for most to distinguish by feel the difference between a .010 string and .011 string, even not on a banjo.  That's only .001, one thousandth of an inch.  And a player typically will prefer one string over another.

Neck difference of a few hundreths of an inch -- 10 or 20 times the difference between two strings --  may lead a player to prefer one neck over another.

I went from a 1 3/16ths neck at the first fret, which I had difficulty playing, to a 1 1/4 which made a difference, then to a 1 5/16ths. which has greatly improved my playing. Also, I was able to go with a 1 7/8th string spaced bridge, which I couldn't do with a 1 3/16th narrow neck.

I guess that my Diamond Point is "widest" - 1.29" 1.84 1.98.  It's also radiused.  I love playing it.
