I want to use an 11" rim, but it's only 1/2" thick so it needs longer co-rods and I don't know where to go. Thanks!
We supply coordinator rods that fit an 11" 2 ply rim. If you contact me I'll arrange to get a sketch of how our rods fit the rim etc. The main difference with our rods is that they don't protrude through the rim at the tail piece. To fasten the tail piece you need to use a threaded ball shoe that threads into the coordinator rod and attaches to the tail piece bolt. We mostly build openback banjos and this style of rod eliminates the threaded rod protruding outside the back of the rim. A much cleaner look from my perspective.
Hard to explain verbally! I'm presently away from the shop until the week-end but could forward you a drawing etc. on my return if interested.
Thanks Bill! I sure would like to see your sketch.
I have used the SAGA sets on thin rimmed 11" banjos. Plenty of adjustment.
