I'm developing an electric banjo with an innovative feature included. At some future time, the need for sponsors may arise: in a crowdfunding campaign, for example, in order to finance a prototype specimen or series. The most obvious place to start the Hangout, of course.
This is not likely to happen soon. For now, just an option to consider. But I think the question of whether or not BHO rules allow this is nevertheless worth asking.

Crowdfunding on BHO probably could not happen. Crowdfunding sites must register and comply with the SEC regulations on crowdfunding. But what you are thinking of doing may not be, technically, crowdfunding. YOu would just have to look. We have both federal and state laws/regs on securities and raising money (California, for example, always seems to have its own unique laws on just about everything). So it would take a lot of work for a site like this to make sure it is complying with all potential regs.
What would be cool is for you to go on Shark Tank. I don't think we've ever had a banjo on Shark Tank, but an electric banjo is the kind of offbeat thing the show might love.
Good luck with it!
Before you do anything else, contact Eric and see if it's okay with him or not. I doubt he'd allow it, but the decision is his alone.
