I had my 1st real GF at 14. As a gift, she bought (or stole) me a bottle of jade east cologne. That intoxicating smell still haunts me. I loved it. I remember some other good smelling ones... British Sterling, Canoe, English Leather, Brut, Hai Karate Lime! Never could figure out smelling like a lime. Any others?

I liked English Leather a lot (when I was 15-16 years old).  Whenever I'd run outta that, I'd dip into my dad's Old Spice, but I didn't do that too often cuz Old Spice 'wasn't cool' if you were a teen way back then.

To this day I own an Avon bottle shaped like a football helmet that still retains the essence of cologne, a gift from my first sort-of girlfriend in sixth grade. That was 1966, and that cologne still smells just as good, or bad, as the case may be. I never wore any but I liked getting the gift from a real girl!

I still have a bottle of "Canoe" that I got as a gift maybe 50 years ago.  It's 7/8's full.  If I started using it now, I'd get the "side eye" from the wife, I'm afraid.    I like the smell of Canoe but quit using any "smell in a bottle" after I got out of the feedlot businesssurprise

I liked Jade East quite a bit and Hai Karate , too, hen I was in high school and college.

After 50 years of marriage (we had our 50th March 22 in Denver with the kids and grandson's), I no longer need an attractant.  I'm more interested in repellent.  When we play at the local assisted living place, some older gal is always hitting on me.    I don't know if it's me they're interested in or the banjosmiley

I have a bottle of Old Spice that my wife gave me, she still prefers the smell of Lava hand soap after I've gotten out of the shower.

Showing your age there. Me too, I had all those, but mostly from Mom and Aunt. I guess I was never worth that much to the girls my age, eh. Brad

Now, about that Jade easy...warning don't try this at home. We were out hitting the bars in high school. Buddy driving kept a bottle of Jade east in the glove box. I guess he was always thinking he would get lucky. Well, I drank it to get beer off my breath. Well, it may have when stomach purged. Brad

My granddad always wore Aramis. I found a vintage unopened bottle at a store a few years ago and bought it....I wanted to remember my grandad a little bit, and I NEVER wear cologne, thought I'd surprise my wifey. Smelled amazing to me, brought back lot of good old memories...and i thought I was a stud wearing it, thought for sure that my wife would go coo-coo for it! She came home and as soon as she walked through the door, "What is that terrible smell!?! Its giving me a headache....did you spill something on yourself in the garage? Get away from me!" so....that was it for me wearing cologne.

While I occasionally appreciate cologne, I sometimes think I married my husband because of the way he smells la naturale.

I don't know if it's his diet, his genetic make up, the fact he drinks so much water, or what. All I know is, he smells good. All the time. 35 years and I've never known that man to smell anything other than wonderful. With absolutely no effort. It isn't fair, I wish I were so lucky, (he probably wishes I were so lucky, too,) but that's the way it is.

My 8th grade girlfriend gave me a bottle of Jade East for Christmas. When applied liberally I'm pretty sure I became James Bond.

When I finally ran out of the Old Spice the kids gave me I tried Aqua Velva again. Cheap. Classic. But when I ran out of that I did some research. I wanted a classic old man's potion. Bay Rum. It's perfect for me. It's not strong at all. And most important, Mrs. Wyozark likes it.

A couple of years ago I attended the funeral of boyhood friend's dad. His younger sisters were all there. Funny. When I knew them they were grade schoolers. Now they are grandmothers. But I digress. I started talking to my friend whom I had not seen in at least 20 years. His sisters were talking among themselves trying to figure out who I was. When they finally found out they were so glad to see me. I had spent so much time staying over at my friend's house or he at mine. But one of the sisters said what she always remembered about me was the way I smelled.

So at this point I will admit that I used Brut. For years. Even as a college student. In retrospect I want to apologize to anyone who had to spend any time around me. It was Brutal I am sure. . .

And we were dumb enough to think it replaced taking a shower.

It was a left over habit from when I was chasing forest fire airtankers, it was the only way to keep from destroying hotel bedding.
