I was wondering, after reading the “itches rew” thread: is there a tenor or plectrum player who is doing for the 4-string what Bela Fleck did for the 5? Playing tunes and composing music that makes people say “Wow! I didn’t know the tenor/plectrum could sound that modern/cool/revolutionary?” I really enjoy all the tenor/plectrum banjo music I hear and especially look forward to youtube videos from Eddy Davis (who just recently interpreted a Billy Joel tune and made me fall in love with it all over again) and the videos in this forum from all of you who contribute. pdinneen1 Patrick is a fresh and creative player whom I first heard hear just a few days ago but who has a long histroy of banjo performing.
Anyone else I should be searching for?
I would say Buddy and Tyler are the in that caliber Ken. I'm surely not up on all the 4 stringers though.
check out Dom Clemmons
I like Cynthia Sayer a lot. I would put her playing in the realm of Fleck.
